Fogoma’iu Village, Papua New Guinea | 2016
In partnership with Irish Cave Explorers + Axel Hack
The Kosua People of the Kikori River Basin have lived in complete isolation from the outside world until very recently. They are proud, friendly, welcoming, and independent indigenous people with a beautiful tribal culture of hospitality and respect for their environment. In December 2015 and into 2016, an Irish led expedition team of 14 cavers travelled to the region not only to map and document the completely unexplored Darai Plateau, but to bring as many lightweight necessities like Luci lights as they could to the resource-lacking Kosua.
