The day the earthquake hit, Kids of Kathmandu immediately mobilized to provide school supplies and temporary classrooms for the 10,000 children from villages that had been hit the hardest. The quake fell on a Saturday, the one day a week students have off from school, meaning many lives were luckily protected despite so many schools being destroyed.
